Browsing and third-party media
You do not need a visitor account to use the feed. Thumbnail images load from source platforms. Videos load only when you choose to load a player; the provider then receives your request and may use cookies or collect information under its own policy. Links open the original platform.
Optional analytics
With your consent, we record visits, content opens, player loads, YouTube playback starts and completions, source clicks, bookmarks, filter use, submitted search text and translation choices. Page paths, referring hostnames and campaign tags help explain how visitors arrive. Full referring URLs are not stored. Random browser and session identifiers help count repeat visits; a session restarts after 30 minutes of inactivity. We do not record sessions, video contents, names or email addresses in analytics. Search text is limited to 160 characters; please avoid entering personal information. Our site’s raw event records expire after 90 days. Browser blocking, consent choices and device changes affect these measurements.
Use Analytics preferences below to decline or withdraw consent. Withdrawing stops future analytics and removes this browser’s analytics identifiers; it does not retroactively identify and delete past records. Browsers requesting Do Not Track are not measured.
Google Analytics
When you allow analytics, we also use Google Analytics to measure visitors, sessions, traffic sources, page views and content interactions. Google receives browser and device information, page paths, limited campaign tags, a referring origin and cookie identifiers. We do not send names, email addresses, search text, editorial text or our own visitor identifiers to Google. Google processes network information to provide the service. Advertising features and Google signals are disabled. Google Analytics cookies last up to 90 days and may be refreshed on a visit; event-level retention is set separately in Google Analytics. Signed-in editors and preview hosts are excluded from this measurement. Earlier consent to site-only analytics does not enable Google Analytics; we ask again.
Bookmarks and settings
Bookmarks, language and filter choices are stored on your device. They are not accounts and do not sync between devices. Clearing browser storage removes them.
Submissions, reports and security
Submitted source links, titles, creator names and notes are stored for editorial review. Reports store the content identifier and selected concern. Do not submit private information. To limit spam we use short-lived hashed network identifiers, which are deleted after their rate-limit window. Hosting and source providers may retain their own security logs.
Optional machine translation
When connected and requested, Google Cloud Translation receives the published English editorial note and target language. We cache the translation to avoid repeat requests. Unpublished drafts, visitor identifiers and account details are not sent for translation.
Editor access
Editors sign in using ChatGPT. The application checks the signed-in email against an editor allowlist. Visitor accounts, advertising cookies and session replay are not enabled in this beta. Google Analytics loads only after analytics consent.
